A heavyweight matchup between Eric “Butterbean” Esch and Rob “Bear” Broughton and a two championship bouts – a middleweight showdown between champion Mark “The Wizard” Weir and Zelg “Little Cro Cop” Galesic and a lightweight battle between champion Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro and Daisuke Nakamura – highlight Cage Rage 19. The 12-bout card, billed as a “U.S. vs. U.K.” affair, will take place at Earls Court in London, England on Saturday, December 9th.
Hawaiian brawler, Wesley “Cabbage” Correira will also see action on the card against Tengiz Tedoradze.
Butterbean, heralded as the “King Four-Rounders” since his days as a super heavyweight boxer, will put on the line a mixed martial arts record of 7-2. During his last appearance, which came during Pride’s first-ever fight card in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 21st, the 350-pound power puncher stopped fellow American Sean O’Haire with a flurry of punches in 29 seconds.
